He is the former Chairman of the Institute of Directors in Surrey. He is an international Cybersecurity Keynote Speaker and his TED Talk ‘The Human Firewall’ spawned two books. Rob is the UK Ambassador for Cybersecurity for the Institute of Directors (IoD).

Rob has the Freedom of the City of London, is a Liveryman in The Worshipful Company of World Traders and was named as the first honorary lifetime member of the Cloud Industry Forum for his contributions to the sector.

Rob is passionate about helping people better understand Cybersecurity and he has won a number of speaker awards for having successfully done this, making the complex straightforward using real-life examples, clear easy to understand explanations and humour.

On joining the Advisory group, Rob said: “When I first heard about the Cyber Resilience Centre, I knew I wanted to be involved. In my job, I’ve witnessed far too many people and organisations significantly impacted by the damages inflicted by Cybercrime.

"As well as being the MD of ramsac I spend a lot of time as an industry spokesperson giving talks and training people on Cybersecurity and it amazes me that there is such a lack of knowledge and understanding across all sectors.

“I love the approach of the SECRC linking law enforcement, the great team of police cyber specialists with both business and education specialists and thought leaders, combing the very best of experience, ideas, influence and reach to create a model of excellence and innovation. I’m delighted to be a part of the team and to be working with other specialists whom I’ve known and respected for many years.”

The SECRC is an innovative not for profit partnership between policing, academia, and private industry, committed to helping protect businesses in the South East region from cybercrime.
