Founder of Cybility Consulting joins SECRC Advisory Group

We are delighted to announce Michala Liavaag as the newest member of the centre’s Advisory Group.


The Advisory Group is formed of professionals who come from a diverse range of industries and play a key role in providing guidance, advice and support around the initiatives and work the SECRC undertakes.


Michala Liavaag is the Founder of Cybility Consulting who are a strategic consultancy that work with not-for-profit leaders to demystify cyber security; empowering them to build lasting customer trust and protect their organisations.


An experienced professional, speaker, mentor, and podcaster; Michala spent 20 years in IT and has over 10 years’ experience leading information governance and security programmes in local government, the National Health Service (NHS) and the charity sector where she worked for a nationwide end-of-life healthcare charity.


Michala supports not-for-profit boards and leaders through her podcast and YouTube channel, ‘Cybility Savvy’. She has also contributed to work with the UK National Cyber Security Centre, NHS Digital, and sat on the Management Committee of the BCS Information Risk Management and Assurance (IRMA).


Commenting on Michala joining the SECRC Advisory Group, Andy Richardson, Director of the Cyber Resilience Centre for the South East, said: “I’m really pleased to see Michala join our highly knowledgeable group of advisors, the career that Michala has had in IT and cyber security will be hugely beneficial to the team and therefore to our members and their businesses across the South East.”


Since its launch in 2020, the Cyber Resilience Centre for the South East has worked to support over 700 businesses across the region, which includes businesses of all sizes and from all sectors. We are currently helping businesses from sectors that include retail and convenience stores, health and beauty establishments, financial and legal institutions, leisure and travel, hospitality, food and beverage businesses, manufacturing, engineering and many more.
